The haunted house Frammegården has a ghost for a guest

A haunted house in Skilling mark outside of Eda attracts brave visitors with nerves of steel.

InSkillingmark there is a beautifully-situated old, red family farm on a hill beside Askesjön. Today the farm is owned by Skillingmarks Hembygdsförening since the last owner, Kerstin Eriksson, bequeathed the farm to the Municipality of Skillingmark.

During the summer there is outdoor feasting and traditional midsummer celebration as is usual for a country farm. The farm was built during the eighteenth century and the building has been open to the public since the 1960s. The interior has been preserved with furniture and utility items from peasant and landed gentry environments since the time when the house was inhabited.

Young people want to spend the night in the ghost house

It is common for school classes to come on visits and the farm currently has a high occupancy rate, so high that the year ahead will soon be fully-occupied. You can spend an inexpensive night here if you dare. The farm is of course haunted.

Frammegården is considered one of the most haunted houses in Sweden and not all visitors dare stay beyond midnight. The farm has received an enormous upsurge thanks to the Youtube pair “Jocke and Jonna” who released a film on Youtube when they visited the haunted house.

The farm has been a haunt for ghost hunters since the 1950s. They have witnessed everything from knocking, steps and strange inexplicable sounds. Many who come to the farm experience a sense of uneasiness and say that they have seen objects move around without being able to explain why.

Paranormal activity

The house bears a dark and tragic history. The farm has been a haunt for ghost hunters since the 1950s. They have witnessed everything from knocking, steps and strange inexplicable sounds. Many believe that the farm is haunted by the last owner of the farm and can attest to energies and strange inexplicable events.

Two children are said to have died of hunger and thirst when they were locked into the attic to then be buried in the cellar. A “death bed” is located in the room that is called the corpse room. It was a room were people were place whilst awaiting death and thereby take their last breath. It is here that most people say that they experience energies and paranormal activities in the house.

Place of execution for witches

There is a legend that says that the site on which Frammegården is situated would have been used as a place of execution during the witch hunts of the seventeenth century. According to myth, women who had been found guilty of witchcraft would have been beheaded or burned at the stake.

Frammegården in the forests of Värmland is an interesting place to visit any night for those who have nerves of steel. The rest of us can in any case make do with visiting Skillingmark’s country farm one sunny midsummer day or when it is open for other events.
